The following information comes from the RI Department of Health's Website

H1N1 School-Based Clinic Information

The Rhode Island Department of Health has scheduled school-based H1N1 vaccination clinics to occur over a 28-day period starting in the first week of November. Given the amount of vaccine that Rhode Island will receive each week, this schedule allows HEALTH to vaccinate as many students as possible as quickly as possible. While the order in which vaccine will be delivered to schools is fixed, the dates of clinics are subject to vaccine availability and may change slightly. The school clinic schedule was developed using a randomized, computer-generated process. You can use the schedule below to search for school clinics by city, date, or individual school.

The H1N1 Vaccine Information Statement (English | Spanish), vaccine consent form (English | Spanish), and accompanying letter (English | Spanish) sent to parents the week of October 19 are available on this page in both English and Spanish. Children cannot receive this free vaccination in a school without a signed and dated consent form. For school-aged children who do not get this vaccination in school, it will not likely be available in physicians' offices or in other clinics until late December. School district superintendents or school principals will contact parents with more information about clinics.

Note: Some kindergartners are eligible for H1N1 vaccinations in their providers' offices. Although the majority of Rhode Island's kindergartners attend elementary schools and will be vaccinated in clinics organized by their school districts, some children attend kindergarten in preschool settings that will not offer clinics. These kindergartners should receive the H1N1 vaccine from their pediatricians or family physicians. Pediatricians and family physicians have been directed to vaccinate children who attend private/independent kindergarten programs even if they are over the age of five years.
